This is also great news for the city of Orlando, FL. Pending the final agreement, Orlando will still host the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, February 26, 2012. The game was in doubt following the prolonged NBA lockout, but the Saturday agreement ensures that there will be a 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend.
Orlando will host its second NBA All-Star Game and its first in the newly constructed Amway Arena. Festivities will begin Friday, February 24, 2012 with the Rookie Challenge & Youth Jam, where the league’s top rookies and second-year players square off. Saturday, February 25, 2012 is packed with events including the Sprite Slam Dunk, Foot Locker Three-Point Contest, Taco Bell Skills Challenge, and the Haier Shooting Stars competition. The weekend will conclude with the 61st NBA All-Star game being played on Sunday evening around 7:00 P.M. EST
